Thing 12 I luv Google

I know, I am probably the only one but I love Google more than the Iphone. I have been a fan of Google every since I got first smart phone. I could go to Google account put dates on my Google calendar and those dates would be on my phone calendar. It is awesome. I also love Google books. I had to a research paper in my sociology class and Google books came to the rescue. I just can not say enough about Google. It is easy and everything is in one place.

Thing 11 Finding something to blog about

I found google blog search to be the easiest and technorati to be the hardest. I like google reader search on feeds to be easiest. Topix.net was the most confusing because it is too much information all over the page. Useful feed for me was the exercising blog about belly fat. I always looking for different ways to exercise. The most unusual feed I found was on pitbull dogs and how that breed of dog is no longer ban. I did not find any other different ways to locate newsfeeds but the old way the search bar.

Thing 10 RSS

I like that the RSS can update me on the latest information. I like that I can get information faster. I could used this RSS in school with my blog or other student's blog. I could used this for what is the latest news that is going in our city and country. In my personal life, I would be kept inform on new ways on teaching, new subject matter, and new technology. A public page would be good to have because the students and parents of your classroom would be kept inform of new assigns and what is going at the school and around the city without having to wait on the school system website.

Thing 9 Generator

I did have fun with this post. These generators would be great to use in the classroom. I would have my students find a generator that they like and then solve a math problem. Then apply the answer to the generator of their choice. Of course this would be homework. This would peak their interest and also show how math is used in everyday life.

Thing 8 Apps are hard

This post was the hardest yet for me. I still do not know if I got it right.
This is My app.
Mashup is fun to used pictures to create educational games or lessons. There were a lot of interesting apps. This mashup would keep students' attention. The students would have to used a lot of their problem solving skills to build an app. Sharing photos online is fun.

Thing 7 Math pic

I really like this photo because it is about the two things I like to do the most, dance and math. I think some students do not like math because it is not fun to them. This photo makes math fun. I enjoyed exploring Flickr and looking at all the pictures. I did not like how difficult it was to copy the URL of the image to my post. I will use Flickr in my classroom as a research tool and to make math fun. This was my first time using a photo hosting service. Having photos in the public is good especially when using Flickr because you can make sure you get credit for your photos.

Thing 6

I chose Hulu.com.because I did not have to download anything or pay for the site. It is a great site to watch movies, television shows, soap operas, or educational documentaries. The link is http://www.hulu.com/?src=topnav. You can search for one word or several and it gives you titles of all different shows or documentaries with that title. For example, I search for education and got the documentary on Brown v. Board of Education: 40 years later. I like that you do not have to sign in or make an account to watch a movie. I dislike that if you want to watch current shows you have pay for it which is through Hulu plus. Hulu.com could be used in the classroom or library as a research tool or as a tool to enhance subject content like the history of education.

Thing 5 web 2.0

I like the article Web 2.0 is not about version number or betas because it discuss how the new technology is not just about the second version of the Web. It is about all the new things people can create on the Web. I also like the article Teachers 2.0 because so many students are auditory learners and have a lot of after school activities that they would be able to listen to the teacher lesson on their mp3 players. I really enjoyed the Web 2.0 is the future of education perspective. The video of the students and teachers using a interactive project was amazing to watch. "School 2.0" means to me is that teachers will teach their lessons using the web and social networking sites. That homework will be more interesting to the students. School 2.0 will be more hands on than just reading books. What does it mean for schools of the future? School 2.0 will be more interesting. Students will be more knowledgeable. There will be more ways of communicating and interaction with teachers, students, and parents.

Thing 4 I will be back

I will finish writing about this post at the end.

Thing #3

I would use blogger in the classroom to teach the students how to blog. I would demonstrate how to work out homework assignments because when some students get home they forget how to solve the mathematics problems. I would post the classroom notes on the blog because I remember as a student I was not a fast note taker. I would use blogs for the students to express their ideas about the problems they are having with mathematics. The students would also express to me on the blog how they learn the best. For example, some students are more visual learners. I would also use blogs to communicate with the parents. The parents would be able to view the students' assignments and their child's opinions of the subject matter.

Thing #2

I decide on the name of my blog by thinking about how much I would learn this summer. I am getting educated not only by this summer class but also by my daughter who graduated from high school this past May. She is teaching me about how to be patience. The post names were given to me by the instructor. It was not hard for me because I have created blogs before. My avatar does reflect my personality because I always have a smile on my face and a good attitude about life. I created the avatar to look like me as best as I could.

Thing #1

I enjoyed the video on lifelong learners because I started college late in life. I was 32 years old when I started college. I understand why a person should have a contract or plan. Everyone should have habit 71/2 when learning new things because it gives the brain enough time to think.
